Inakaya Japanese Restaurant: Authentic Sushi and Sashimi Experience in Columbia, SC

Great place! Food was amazing! Service was great! Couldn't ask for a better place! They have early bird specials so go between 5 and 6 pm if you like sushi and the rest of the menu has proved good so far. Highly recommend and will be back again for sure!

Simply the best thing I’ve put in my mouth in a long time. The hospital crew I work with ordered from this Japanese sushi spot, and there was some left over — I made myself a plate and was blown away. Amazing doesn’t even do it justice. Fresh, perfectly balanced, and absolutely top-tier. Hands down the best sushi I’ve had anywhere.

The food was absolutely spectacular the atmosphere was great and the staff were super friendly and professional. I had the sashimi lunch, surf clam, redfish and giant fin squid. It was all spectacular and served up by the head chef Maru who is a great person. This place is one of the best sushi places in the state of South Carolina. It's just unfortunate that it is so far from my residence. I highly recommend this place for those that enjoy quality sushi and authentic Japanese cuisine. The variety at this particular sushi restaurant is greater than the majority of the ones throughout the state. Update: I still stand by what I stated above. It is probably the best sushi and sashimi that you'll find in the state of South Carolina. I had that driven home when I ate lunch there yesterday. He has the freshest fish that you will find and it's of the highest caliber.

First time here and hopefully not the last. I came to Columbia after a day at the Congaree NP and 3 days of golf at Hilton Head. I ordered the Sashimi Teishoku (for less than $20) and sat at the Sushi Bar. The food was outstanding, the conversation with the sushi chefs amazing and the other patrons were friendly. We all talked about visiting Japan especially with one of the senior chefs. Sorry, I didn’t get his name but he is so very friendly and from Osaka. Great conversation and excellent sashimi! I live in another state and wish we could drop this place back home.

Great place...lots of choices of sushi and other things to choose from. You can sit at a bar and watch your food made or you can sit at a table..whatever your flavor is. Staff is friendly and very attentive. The wait time is a little long so recommend reserving and/or calling ahead, but it's worth the wait.

Fabulous is an understatement. Great local Sushi restaurant that has a fantastic community of customers.

The best sushi experience in the area hands down. Some of the freshest fish I’ve ever had especially this far inland. Waiters are always super nice and attentive. Sushi chefs are very skilled and a wonder to be around such amazing people. 11/10 restaurant. If you’re ever having a rough day this will likely help fix it.

I love this place so much! Everything is high quality, from food to atmosphere. Fresh food, fast service, very nice servers and chefs who greet you with a smile. Price point isn't bad either. My toddler loved the food here as well (udon and miso soup), I'm 100% coming back for more.
